Tsukuba Science City, the conference venue, is located at the center of Tsukuba City, 60 km northeast of Tokyo. Via the Tsukuba Express Line from Akihabara Station in Tokyo, Tsukuba Science City is about an one-hour trip from Central Tokyo. It has about 60 educational and research organizations such as University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba Gakuin University, Tsukuba University of Technology, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (NIED), and High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). There are a variety of unique sightseeing spots in Tsukuba Science City. The Tsukuba Expo Center is one of the world's largest planetariums, where visitors can experience the latest in technology and science. Tsukuba Space Center (JAXA), Science Square Tsukuba, and Tsukuba Botanical Garden are also attractive sightseeing spot in Tsukuba Science City. We are planning to hold technical tours visiting the above research institutes for you to enjoy SICE2016.
